Recent Inspiration

Posted by Madeleine Clark on

I hope you are all well! I’ve decided to write a blog post about some of the images we’ve recently been inspired by. Normally I’m inspired by life, the things I see when shopping or at a festival, on a night out, on holiday, travelling for business, trade shows! But of course none of these things are happening & when everyone is just staying home and nothing is as normal I’m finding the lack of stimulation is taking a toll on my creative side. I haven’t even been going to the supermarket we opted for home deliveries to be on the safe side with me being pregnant so I’m not even picking up my usual magazines. I may need a subscription soon! But we have still been creating lots of content, designing and creating new collections behind the scenes. And social media has been where I’ve looked for inspiration and some light during these weird times! So here are some things which have inspired recent photo shoots and new and up & coming collections. let’s start with clothing!

Loving everything about this image for summer I’m really loving the bright retro floral prints this season. We have managed to offer a few on our pre order collection and on a side note I have planted lots of sunflowers in my garden so hopefully they will grow as tall as this!

so this is quite the opposite simple & chic. I’m loving neutrals at the moment. I’m normally more about bright colourful prints. But I’m just loving items which are understated and chic. Earthy neutral tones are at the centre of  the brand lately. And definitely going forward into AW20!

Cute skirts, casual t’shirts and an eco friendly shopping bag. This kind of outfit is the core of our collections. We are currently working on a new skirt design for next season. I just love this relaxed day look. This is something I would wear and wear out. And the brand is based on my own style and lifestyle.

I’ve created a mood board for our first summer photoshoot...

Next up! Lifestyle and home. We will be launching a new home and lifestyle collection on our website later this year. In a similar way that we create our fashion collection some products will be handmade and others will be carefully sourced and bought in. We are currently working on designs collecting fabric samples and speaking to lots of suppliers. So behind the scenes it’s well underway. We even have a few samples already made up ready to photograph. so here is a mood board of the kind of things inspiring our collection. Sneak peak!

We will divulge more on this collection closer to its launch!

And lastly since i have recently re decorated and re organised my office. It’s now a perfectly organised space to run Lazy Gurl at least for the time being. But as we have been getting more and more orders recently I’m finding I need a dedicated space for packaging and dispatch! I won’t be able to create this until I am able to go to the shops again. But I am planning on having a desk fixed to the wall with brackets I will probably stick with my naked pine theme. Then on the wall a rail with hooks for hanging dried flowers upside down to add to each parcel. A rail for tissue paper. And a book shelf for the cardboard boxes in size order & I want new flyers for customer loyalty. We have recently changed our packaging to cardboard boxes but we need a few more sizes to be able to package all the different products. So one step at a time we are moving closer to where we want to be with our branding. We are forever evolving and adapting. The evolution is the part I find most exciting. Check out some of the inspiration for our new packaging area.

I hope you have enjoyed a little glimpse into some of the ideas spinning around in my head. I can’t wait to show you what we actually create!

Thanks for reading, you can share our blog posts on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.

Take care

Leiney xoxo
